My Winter Skincare Routine
Every year when it starts to get chillier out I switch up my skincare routine to protect my skin from the frigid air. I tend to gravitate towards gentle and hydrating products to keep my skin looking dewy and radiant. So I though I'd share what has been working for me and the products I've really been enjoying.
Micellar water is my absolute favorite. It is such a versatile product and Yes to Coconut does an amazing version. Their ultra hydrating micellar cleansing water is great for taking off stubborn makeup, cleansing, and refreshing your skin. It is a great all-in-one product and something every girl should have in their winter skincare routine.
On lazier days I like to use Shea Moisture's Coconut and Hibiscus Radiance Facial Wipes. I talked about this brand (review coming soon!) in My Winter Foundation Routine post and have since tried out a few more of their products. These wipes not only smell amazing, but are very gentle. They remove makeup no problem and are great when you really couldn't be bothered to do your whole routine.
To cleanse I've been loving Neutrogena's Hydro Boost hydrating cleansing gel as well as the Bioclarity cleanser. A gel cleanser is really perfect for dry skin as it's super gentle and cooling. The Hydro Boost cleanser, much like the moisturizer, has hyaluronic acid which makes it feel silky on the skin and leaves you feeling refreshed and clean. The Bioclarity cleanser is also a gel and I'll be doing a full blog post on the entire range.
After cleansing it's always important to tone your skin. I prefer a toner you can spray on as they're less fussy and feel so nice to spritz on throughout the day. Shea Moisture's Youth-Infusing Hydrating Toner is such a lovely product. With Olive Leaf Extract and Avocado Oil it revives and balances your skin, a must for any routine. It's also alcohol free, which is very important for a hydrating routine as alcohol tends to leave your skin feeling tight and uncomfortable. .
To finish it off I use the Shea Moisture Daily Hydration Overnight Face Oil. If you haven't started using face oils you should definitely try this one. With (surprise) coconut oil and coconut milk it pairs so nicely with any moisturizer to help soften and restore your skin. It doesn't feel heavy or slick on your skin, but quickly sinks in leaving a nice glow. You only need a few drops to pat into your face and neck and you're all set!
And last, but not least, I finish strong with my Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel-cream. This is my all time favorite moisturizer and if you try anything from this post it should definitely be this! Sinks into the skin so well and just leaves you refreshed and radiant.
What are some of your favorite skincare products? Anything I should check out? Let me know in the comments below! Also everything in this post can be found at Target, my second home, which is great because who doesn't love that magical place.
