Dinner Out Downtown
This past weekend a friend and I went out for coffee and dinner downtown to enjoy the weather and atmosphere of this time of year. First we stopped to hangout at Café Steam, one of my favorite places to relax in Rochester. It's the perfect place to catch up with friends or get work done. I tried their apple cider and was not disappointed, perfectly hot with a hint of cinnamon. Exactly what you need to warm you up!
The Half Barrel was a short walk away from the café and very easy to spot with barrels out front and lights strung up. Inside the restaurant was decorated with the same lights, casting a magical glow, and wreaths to put you in the Christmas spirit.
We of course ordered the spinach dip for our appetizer, which is perfect to share. I don't want to brag, but I'm somewhat of a spinach dip connoisseur. Out of all the restaurant's in Rochester I've been to, The Half Barrel's classic appetizer is my new favorite.
As for our entrees, my friend got the margarita pizza and I got the spinach and mushroom ravioli. The servings were huge! We could've easily split the pizza and had some leftover, but our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. I would highly recommend both for dinner!
Even though we were pretty stuffed, we decided to split the dessert anyways. You just can't leave a restaurant without trying something off the dessert menu. We went for the chocolate bourbon pecan pie and it was amazing! Definitely worth feeling like I had a food baby. If I would've had the room I also might've tried one of their delicious sounding cheesecakes, next time!
